Online Privacy & Security

Protecting personal information and navigating the internet safely.

Password Security

  • Strong Passwords: Long, mix of characters, no dictionary words.
  • Unique: Don't use the same password everywhere.
  • Manager: Use a password manager (like Bitwarden or 1Password).

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Always enable 2FA when available. It adds a second layer of security (like a code sent to your phone) beyond just your password.

Phishing

Be wary of emails or messages asking for personal info.

  • Check the sender's email address carefully.
  • Don't click suspicious links.
  • Look for urgency or threats ("Your account will be deleted!").

HTTPS

Look for the lock icon in the browser bar. It means the connection is encrypted.
